Clare Bowditch – The Winter I Chose Happiness

Kat’s prompt today about music has had me swirling in musical memories;

but it has been a long, long day,

and I just haven’t got it in me to delve into the past tonight.

So instead I just want to share with you what I’m currently listening to. Joe went to the shops for some groceries the other day and came home with this for me, remembering that I had mentioned wanting to pick it up.

It’s a great album, Clare’s voice is sublime – if you haven’t had the pleasure of listening to it before then I recommend you do yourself a favour right now, truly. She has made a lot of beautiful music over the years and The Winter I Chose Happiness is no exception. I’ve given it a few decent play-throughs, and am starting to find some favourites; Thin Skin and The Big Happy are frontrunners, alongside Amazing Life.

Just beautiful.

An album of songs about happiness is just what my heart needs to hear right now.

And I’m going to be listening to this one as often as possible.
